- A friend just showed me his old Gibson. It is a maple (?) arch-top
- f-hole no-cutaway acoustic with the old style of headstock lettering
- and dot markers. The headstock has straight sides near the pegs rather
- than the curved style of post-war Gibsons. It has a floating one-piece
- rosewood bridge and mahogony (?) binding. There is no interior label
- and no stamped serial number. Looking through "American Guitars," it
- seems to be either an L-37 or L-50. There is some minor damage to the
- finish, but it sounds fine and plays well.
-
- Does anybody have an idea of how to confirm this lovely old thing's
- identity? Any guesses about its cash value?
-
- Thanks.
