- Go an get some T-Bone Walker recordings. He was one of
- the first to merge blues into City Jazz and one of the best.
- I'd also suggest some Count Basie, Duke Ellington recordings
- there are some great guitar players on most of their stuff.

- For contemporary recordings, try Duke Robillard's Swing album.
