  10. I forgot to mention that the discontinuity of the blackbody function
  11. at the surface is what is know as the (negative) adiabatic lapse rate.
  12. This causes a rapid decrease of the atmospheric temprature near the
  13. surface upwards (for the earth it is about -6K/km).
