- That's a good bet - when I worked for Bank of America, we routinely
- sent all bills larger than $100 into our Los Angeles main branch which
- in turn sent them into the Federal Reserve. Sometimes we had customers
- who said they wanted to collect $1000 bills, but few of them every were
- willing to write the check when the opportunity came.

- I don't know if the government wants banks to do this, but banks basically
- want to get rid of these large notes since 1) they can't use them with
- customer transactions, and 2) large bills aren't needed for inter-bank
- transactions since the Federal Reserve and wire transfers do a better job.
