- Indeed, nothing urban lorish (?) about this one. As I write this, it's 35
- below here. Don't bother asking whether that's C or F, since they coincide
- at -40, it really doesn't make much difference.

- Getting your tongue frozen to a piece of metal outdoors in the winter is
- comonly known as "licking the bars". The origin is schoolchildren, as
- the bars referred to are those comprising the fence around the schoolyard.

- I still use "licking the bars" as a general metaphor for somebody doing
- something inexcusably stupid, usually at somebody else's suggestion.

- My sympathy is extended to Californioids, to whom none of this will make
- any sense. If in doubt, go put a crescent wrench in the freezer and get
