- Actually, the English equivalent of Norwegian "Jul" is spelled "yule"
- (which is pretty much a phonetic transliteration of "Jul" into English
- if bitrot hasn't gone too deeply into my brain) and it means the same
- thing. Granted, the word isn't used very much any more because
- English-speaking countries now celebrate Christmas ("the birth of
- Christ") rather than Yule ("the winter solstice") -- the Church of Rome
- strikes again.*
