  13. One day a guy came up with an idea for a simple mechanism to make car's
  14. windscreen wipers wipe intermittantly, rather than constantly - very
  15. useful for drizzle / spitting / light rain.

  17. He showed it to Ford, who said 'Naah, It'll never catch on.'

  19. Next year's Fords all had the 'intermittant wiper' device. As the years 
  20. went by, Ford licenced the idea to all the other car manufacturers.

  22. After ~ 20 years (quite recently) the original guy managed to prove in
  23. court that Ford had ripped him off. I heard he got a S*itload of cash
  24. for it.
