- I think it's exactly that -- women have to be twice as sick to be taken
- seriously. Of course, once you're that ill treatment is much harder
- and takes longer. Science News reported on a study that showed women
- were much less likely to get needed medicines and sugeries for heart
- problems. Many doctors brushed off women's complaints until they became
- very serious. Women are more likely to die in heart surgery primarily
- because their health at the time is much worse than men undergoing
- the surgery. The reason that their health was so bad was because
- they had to wait longer before a doctor would operate.
