- I thought some of you might be interested in the following:
-
- When I was in New York last May I spent some time at the Museum of
- Television and Radio. As those of you that have been there know,
- they have a very user-friendly online search system set up where
- you can sit at a terminal and find out what they have that
- interests you, then you request a number of shows, and go watch
- them at your own video monitor.
-
- I did a search for "Letterman, David" and this is what I found:
-
- June 3,1982 - LNWDL - Bob & Ray, Fran Lebowitz
- July 29,1982 - LNWDL - Andy Kaufman & wrestler
- May 21,1981 - Daytime Emmys - Dave's morning show wins, clip from show
- 1981 - HBO Special - "David Letterman - Looking for Fun"
- Feb.12,1982 - LNWDL - Bob & Ray, ...
- Feb.26,1979 - $20,000 Pyramid - Dave is "Celebrity" guest
- Mar.30,1986 - Comic Releif 4 - Camping Video with Dave, Paul & Chris Elliot
- Dec.19,1984 - LNWDL - Christmas with the Lettermans
-
- They also had a number of episodes in archive that I didn't write down.
- Archive shows are stored off-site and have to be requested several days
- in advance.
-
- I found it interesting to see what shows were considered to be
- Museum-Worthy. Sometimes when the show is going badly, Dave will
- say "Call the Museum of Broadcasting, we want this one to go right
- into the archives". And indeed, some of his shows are there.
