- And it *doesn't* have to have tons of violence to retain my interest.
- Political intrigue in and of itself as part of a storyline is not a negative
- point, IMHO. It'd be nice if I could dredge up some examples, but I haven't
- read all that many comics, so the closest I can come to it would be Venus Wars
- (non-furry and with plenty of gratuitous violence) and Rhudiprrt. I got tired
- of Venus Wars, however, because each episode seemed too short for the money I
- was paying for each issue. (Whether it was or not ... {shrug} ... That's just
- the way I felt, and however the consumer's feelings are translated into sales
- is probably worthy enough to be of importance to a maker of comics.) As for
- Rhudiprrt, it's a matter of not enough supply for the demand. =, i.e. I've
- been waiting a *loooong* time for Rhudi #7, and when I'm certain I can *get*
- it, I'll certainly order it.
-
- Albedo has had some pretty neat stuff in it. However, #7 looked like a bunch
- of talking heads, at least compared to the stuff I'd read back in Command
- Review #1-3. Something looks different, and I'm not sure I like it.
-
- Now, a few folks can insult all us common comic-buyers by trying to say that
- it's just because it doesn't have enough blood-n-guts in it, of course.
- Judging from the gore titles that seem so prominent in my local comics shop,
- I'm not quite sure I could argue against that in terms of the general
- comic-buying public.
-
- I'm a comic-buying person, and I bought some installments in the EDF series,
- and I thought that, since there seems to be some concern over Albedo's falling
- sales, my explanation of *my* reasons why I'm not likely to buy Albedo again
- (mostly, because it's boring) I thought would possibly give a little more
- insight into at least *one* of the possible reasons why people might not be
- buying that comic as much as one would like.
-
- (Wow. Was that all one sentence?)
