- It turns out that Christ probably wasn't born round the 25th December anyway.
- Xmas was put then to correspond with the winter solstice and the celebrations
- at that time by the Romans (I can't remember what it was called).

- Virtually every (northern) culture has/had celebrations at that time because
- of the solstice, and, to make it more acceptable to the average pagan, Xmas
- does as well.
