  15. The government does keep tabs on the activities of groups like NORML and
  16. the Freedom Fighters.  Federal, State and local -- and it is difficult
  17. to know how extensive it is.

  19. Simply by joining NORML, and sending them money, you are not at any
  20. risk of having the government keep a closer eye on you -- the security
  21. of NORML's mailing list is good, and the governments are too busy to pay
  22. attention to simply members.

  24. What is important is to realize that once you have decided to live in fear
  25. of your government, you have already decided to let fascism rule your
  26. life.  I speak all over the country.  I have been a member of NORML for
  27. many years, many years.  The government has NEVER harassed me.

  29. You should write letters to the editor and to your Members of Congress.
  30. If you  are too intimidated to do that, you have let the government win
  31. control over you.

  33. Freedom is not a state or condition.  It is a process that is maintained
  34. when it is USED by the citizens.  If you are not politically active,
  35. you are undermining freedom -- you are wasting it.  Of course the
  36. government should know who you are.  You own it.  They work for you.
  37. Living in fear is what totalitarians want of you.  Why live down to
  38. their expectations?
