- Adding grist to the rumor mill, I have heard from various sources that
- Syd is indeed an acid casualty, and having recently acquired the cd
- " Barrett ", Capitol, 1990, I have to say that I firmly believe it to be
- true. You just have to listen to the cd closely to confirm it. It's so
- completely nonsensical. The lyrics are obviously the product of a VERY
- permamently psychodelicized individual. Furthermore, it sounds just like
- the products PF put out while he was a member. I am mildly amused to find that
- David Gilmour (who replaced Syd as guitarist/vocalist) and Nick Wright co-
- produced and played on this cd. I can only surmise that the guys still keep in
- touch with Syd, for whatever reason, so he's obviously not a complete basket-
- case. However that may be, one good listen to this cd is all it takes to
- realize that old Syd is not really ever going to recover.
- I just had to put it on since I was thinking about it.
