- OK, sad lack of precision here on my part. There are *no* catatonic
- schizophrenics any more (in the developed world, anyway), courtesy of the
- major tranquilizers used to obviate the symptoms of schizophrenia.
- However, you will find that every inner-city institution will have at least
- one LSD-precipitated schizophrenic on its books, along with a few
- PCP-precipitated phycoses and so on. The catatonia is relieved by the
- chlorpromazine etc. BTW, there is a huge difference between catatonic
- schizophrenic and vegetative (maybe not to look at, but in mechanisms and
- so on...).
