  13. 1] In the light of recent postings in a.c.k. of the "Hindu Digest."
  14.    and the subsequent reactions that ackers had, and the response
  15.    of the originators of the post, I feel we must make our positions clear.

  17. 2] Let me explain my stand.
  18.    I have no objections to any religion or any religious organization per se.
  19.    But I have learnt from seeing sci and other india-related newsgroups go to
  20.    waste that religion and its propoganda are the seeds of destruction of
  21.    a newsgroup. 
  22.    I have absolutely no sympathy with postings of this nature from people
  23.    of * any * religion, be it, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity or whatever
  24.    else.
  25.    It has nothing at all to do with Hinduism in particular.
  26.    I will defend the existence and the right of alt.hindu to preach
  27.    that religion at any time. It was created for that purpose.

  29.    Alt.culture.kerala was not created for religious flame-wars.
  30.    If it was not specifically mentioned in the charter, then we will
  31.    modify that charter.

  33.    I am proud of being a keralite.
  34.    Because of many reasons, but the greatest of them is the
  35.    great degree of harmony that existed and still exists among 
  36.    diverse ethnic and religious groups in Kerala. That secular 
  37.    attitude is what I presumed, and I think many other ackers take for 
  38.    granted in a group created for kerala.

  40.    Religion is a private affair.

  42. 2] Since I do not know if we have the majority with us, I request
  43.    that those who do not approve of religious propaganda send a mail
  44.    to paulchem@ucsu.colorado.edu with
  45.    'NO PROP' in the subject line.

  47.    Those who do not agree with these sentiments can send a mail to
  48.    paulchem@ucsu.colorado.edu with
  49.    'YES PROP' in the subject line.

  51.    Be sure to exercise your right to see what goes on in ack.   
  52. This will set the trend for the future of ack and sck.

  54.   I will post the results on saturday the ninth of december.
  55.   Then we will know the general direction the majority wants to 
  56.   go in. If the majority decides for allowing this kind of posting
  57.   so be it. I will not argue against it.

  61.     on the net. We have already generated a lot of non-culture postings
  62.    in the short span.
