  13. Dear fellow-Kannadigas,

  15. We at Texas A&M University recently went through a gruelling but satisfactory
  16. enterprise of collecting the names and details of all Kannada speakers and/or
  17. those from Karnataka. I was endowed with the voluntary responsibility of 
  18. collecting, processing and communicating the relevant data. We are 79 of us
  19. who conform to the above specifications. It has been a proud and illuminating
  20. experience, and perhaps a great help to paople who may feel culture shock.
  21. We feel it will also be helpful for, say, conducting cricket matches or help
  22. find roommates. We may even expand further later (what with the large strength)
  23. to moderate cultural programmes.

  25. Is this, by any chance, a unique effort?  While we would be pleased with
  26. ourselves if it was, we feel a US-wide network of Kannadiga students may be a 
  27. strong contingent to interact and put our heads together to do something 
  28. culturally constructive.
