  21. Does "entertaining" preclude "accurate?" Two books written by
  22. Lower-48ers that are a good read are:

  24. John McPhee, "Coming Into the Country", about McPhee's experiences in
  25. Alaska. He presents several views of Alaska including state
  26. government, Inuits, back-to-nature bush living, and just plain bopping
  27. around remote areas.

  29. Joe McGinnis, "Going to Extremes, " similar themes to McPhee, a little
  30. more "embellished reality" perhaps.

  32. Any of the Robert Service poems.
