  15. The holdup on its release in the US was that Universal had the
  16. distribution rights but was intentionally *not* distributing the film
  17. because they wanted to use it as a pawn in a legal dispute thy were having
  18. with DEG. Overseas, those rights are held by other companies, and since
  19. the movies has been essentially completed for quite a while, there was
  20. nothing preventing those companies from releasing the film.  I hope
  21. somebody writes a book about the hell they went through getting this
  22. thing released.
