  26. George Lucas has admitted to being heavily influenced by the  Lensmen series,
  27. for the Star Wars series. To adapt "Lensmen" now, would result in a lot
  28. of cries of plagarism, since so much of it is so familiar to viewers from
  29. Lucas. Exactly what happened when the Anime version of "Lensman" hit the
  30. theatres.
  31. This is probably more of a factor against it, than it being "Out of vogue".
