- Perhaps most of you here have seen Marc Talbot's (met48546@uxa.csu.uiuc.edu)
- comments about various aspects of the Dr. Beter Audio Letters, my Replies to
- Marc Talbot #1 and #2, along with his replies to my replies, etc. This article
- is directed mostly to him, but I thought I'd post it even so because it might
- be profitable for everyone else to listen too.
-
- It is my observation that although you have demonstrated an eagerness to
- debate these issues in public, and have taken the time to take up net bandwidth
- asking a great deal of plausible-sounding questions about these issues, you have
- correspondingly demonstrated an unwillingness to do some really serious research
- on either the Audio Letters themselves or the fields of knowledge that they
- bear on, no doubt because it is, to you, "boring and tedious" like you say the
- Audio Letters are. A lot of the plausible-sounding questions you ask and
- requests for documentation you make could have already been answered by more
- careful and detailed reading of the Letters, along with associated thorough
- background research in these matters, and also paying closer attention to the
- responses to your questions I have given in my replies. I frankly do not have
- the time to sit at this terminal, take you by the hand, and answer each one of
- your questions in detail, especially when I have a full-time job to tend to and
- other, newer, and better questions to answer from other news readers, not to
- mention the fact that I would just be repeating information that I have already
- posted on these newsgroups in previous Audio Letters. So why don't we do this
- instead.
-
- I have already reposted and emailed to you a copy of the "Introduction and
- Bird's Eye View" of the Letters, as you previously requested a summary if one
- exists, and it does exist. For the remainder, if this does not answer all of
- your questions (and somehow, I don't think it will), we can do one of two
- things:
-
- 1) I can email to you the back issues 1-60 which I previously posted,
- and put you on the mailing list for the remaining 20 which I will post, or
-
- 2) Wait for some point in the (hopefully) near future when these things get on
- an ftp site near you, so that you can transfer them yourself.
-
- Either way there's no need to read through all of them by hand; you would be
- able to do keyword and phrase searches to track down very quickly the
- information you are after. You can do comparisons of related information and
- mesh them together, and so on. And there would be no need for me to sit here
- and answer your posts and take up yet more bandwidth.
-
- Anyway, if you are interested, let me know.
