  12.     We know that Herbert Hoover vigorously pursued
  13. civil rights activists, bank robbers, and communists
  14. during the 50's and 60's while ignoring and even
  15. denying the existence of the Mafia.

  17.     We know that the FBI is currently still engaged
  18. in campaigns against environmentalists,  Indian
  19. rights activists, and other rights groups.

  21.     My question for netland is "Does the FBI still
  22. have a hands off approach to the Mafia?"
  23. (From my perspective it appears that they do.)

  25.     Second question: Why do they have a hands off
  26. approach? Have they been bribed? Blackmailed? 
  27. During Hoover's time, anyone who persued the Mafia
  28. became Agent Non-Grata and was demoted. Is this
  29. still true? Does the Mafia have control of the
  30. higher echelons of the FBI and CIA?
