  49. Abstract:

  51. Sherry Graham will give an introductory overview of why 
  52. electronic mail is important and the need for it to be 
  53. ubiquitous across university and corporate campuses.  
  54. Sherry will make the case for the need to extend email 
  55. out to all points of a large campus environment, and the 
  56. need for it to be easy to use and functional.
  57.  
  58. Following Sherry's introduction to the topic key individuals 
  59. from each of the large university campuses in the Research 
  60. Triangle area will present the work going on at their 
  61. respective campuses to meet the goals that Sherry has 
  62. outlined.
  63.  
  64. Rob Carter will provide an overview of the planning process 
  65. that the Hermes Project committee at Duke University has gone 
  66. through, with emphasis on the tripartisan nature of the Group 
  67. and the conceptual framework they have agreed upon for their 
  68. work.

  70. Same Moore of NCSU will talk about where they are now. Sam will 
  71. give some statistics, present some projects that they have 
  72. been working on and will conclude with information about NCSU's 
  73. recent Email Task Force and its findings and recommendations.

  75. Paul Jones of UNC-CH, as chairman of the campus Electronic mail
  76. task force will present the work of that committee and the 
  77. directions and challenges facing the Chapel Hill campus.
  78.  
  79. The talk will conclude with an open answer and question session
  80. between the audience and the four presenters.
