  36. As a matter of interest, the British government recently announced the
  37. cancellation of the experimental fast breeder reactor programme at
  38. Dounraey, Scotland.  This reactor has been in operation for many years,
  39. producing electricity and selling it to the National Grid.  The cancellation
  40. of this programme will result in the loss of 350 jobs at the UK Atomic
  41. Energy Authority (for whom I work).  Tragic to effectively throw away
  42. decades of work in this manner.
