- I noticed a Springer-Verlag advertisement in a recent issue of AmStat
- News for the book "The Bootstrap and Edgeworth Expansion" by Peter
- Hall. There was a little "splat" on top of the ad that read "Newly
- Corrected Printing". Since I had bought the book last winter when it
- first came out I called Springer and asked for an errata sheet. They
- mailed me a new copy of the book instead, which arrived today. (I
- still don't know what, exactly, was wrong with the first printing.)
-
- Curiously the little "splat" is gone from the latest ad in the
- December issue.
-
- I thought that some other statisticians might want to know about this.
