  13. I noticed a Springer-Verlag advertisement in a recent issue of AmStat
  14. News for the book "The Bootstrap and Edgeworth Expansion" by Peter
  15. Hall.  There was a little "splat" on top of the ad that read "Newly
  16. Corrected Printing".  Since I had bought the book last winter when it
  17. first came out I called Springer and asked for an errata sheet.  They
  18. mailed me a new copy of the book instead, which arrived today.  (I
  19. still don't know what, exactly, was wrong with the first printing.)

  21. Curiously the little "splat" is gone from the latest ad in the
  22. December issue.
