- Postgraduate Research Scholarship $15,000 p.a.

- Applications are invited for a postgraduate research scholarship for study
- towards a higher degree (MEngSc or PhD) in the Department of Civil and
- Systems Engineering at James Cook University. Applicants are expected to
- have a BE degree with honours or equivalent. The scholarship is for one
- year in the first instance, but has a good prospect of renewal for up to three
- years.

- The successful applicant will work on a project supported by an ARC grant
- to study the buckling behaviour and strength of thin shells under local
- loads. The project will involve the development and application of
- nonlinear finite element techniques and model experiments in the laboratory.
