- Some number of years ago there was an article in Newsweek that said that
- the German government sent an evaluation team here to assess US colleges.
- Their schools were crowded & they were considering permitting them to come
- here for credit. There conclusion was that their high school grads were
- the equivalent of someone who had finished the 1st 2 years at one of our
- universities.

- The Germans I have personally spoken with told me that they don't have
- masters degrees. Their bachelor's is the equivalent of our master's.
