- Actually, that sums it up quite nice as the 'only' true way to stop a barking
- dog (however, the dog's owner may get a bit peeved ;-) But a more humane
- approach may work as well. I used to live next door to a guy that had a Lab
- that had a chronic barking problem. Short of using the 'Baretta' approach, I
- came up with a sweet solution that worked. I took a high frequency tweeter and
- built a oscillator/amp for it that would sweep between 18Khz to 25Khz at 120db
- and aimed it at the guys back yard with a remote on-off switch. The dog would
- start barking and I would hit the switch then watch with glee as the mutt would
- roll around in the grass and rub his butt on the concrete. Found out it was
- good for cats as well. One problem though, my wife said she could hear it and
- it was like someone running thier finger nails down a black board to her, so
- she made me quit using it :-( But it was fun while it lasted.....
