  14.     I was wondering if anyone could explain just how the pickups in
  15. an electric guitar work?  I understand the electromagnetic theory behind
  16. them.
  17.     I'm looking for practical information on the sort of voltages
  18. that amplifiers expect to see, impedance of a guitar, what are active
  19. pickups, how are the pickups oriented?
  20.
  21.     I'd appreciate any responses either posted or mailed whatever you
  22. prefer.
