  34. IF you don't mind interfacing to an answering machine, you can get refurb 
  35. recorders very cheap with a warranty and just use a transistor or 
  36. something to pull-down the voltage on switch contacts of the PLAY or OCO 
  37. I mean.. OGM PLAY switch. You can then take the speaker output to a 
  38. larger external speaker for better quality sound.
  39. My GE model has 1 TOUCH PLAY which automatically REWINDS,PLAYS MESSAGE 
  40. AND STOPS. ($40 CDN) All you need is 3 wires to do this.
  41. SIGNAL (to extrnal speaker)
  42. GROUND (common)
  43. PLAY-  (which is probably 0Vdc or contact closure to ground. and can be 
  44. interfaced from your sensor.
  45. For long leads >10ft, add a cap on the recorder switch to suppress noise 
  46. and false switching. Since it is edge triggered, momemtary sensor active 
  47. is all you need.
