- Supplex and polypro garments, I feel, are the most effective means of
- combatting the cold. Supplex "kills" the wind and allows for some
- wicking. Polypro keeps you warm and does a great job of "wicking".
- I run in anything (rain, snow or sun) and when it's really cold, I
- mean really cold -10 and below, I wear a pair of Helley Hansen LIFA
- 5000 tights. I have found nothing comparable. These tights combined
- with cheap cotton or nylon tights do the trick for the lower half. A
- supplex pullover as a shell over a polypro t-shirt and nylon tank covers
- the rest. A very important consideration, be sure to cover all exposed
- skin when encountering these extreme temperatures. I find cold weather
- running very enjoyable and challenging, just be cautious.
