- Well, I went and checked out the progress on "Top Gun" earlier this
- evening. Looks like it's almost finished -- the corkscrew is the
- only portion of the track still left in the parking lot. They have
- started to paint the lift and other sections of the track, as well.
-
- Surveying the track, I found each section hollowed but sealed -- should
- make for a pretty good echo chamber (it resonates for a good long time
- when knocked with a knuckle or two). In short, this thing should roar
- at least as well as "The Vortex" does... can't wait to see some of the
- test trains being run next month or so!
-
- Also, it looks as though the track passes a little less than ten feet
- from the ground (OK, I didn't measure it but I swear I could jump and
- touch it) before and after the loop. Looks like front seat riders are
- going to be really friendly with the ground on the first drop and after
- the loop -- remember, your legs are supposed to be hanging free, from
- all I've read on the ride.
-
- Yes, another person that can't wait until opening day (or press day, if
- I can manage to find a way in)!
