  13. I know a little about the onithopter efforts taking place at the
  14. University of Toronto.  Jim DeLaurier and Jerry Harris spent 20 years
  15. on the design of the world's first RC powered ornithopter.  Up until
  16. a year ago there only claim to fame was that they had a ornithpter
  17. that flew but did not sustain flight, i.e. climb.  (MaCready's pterodactyl
  18. did this too.)  I was contacted by Jim DeLaurier to design them a new
  19. airfoil specifically for the task of flapping.  With the new airfoil, this
  20. improved matters just enough so that it could climb.  Coverage of the
  21. flight made it on CNN just a little over a year ago.
