- My parents own an 87 Accord LXi and according to Honda this motor will not
- spin without hitting the valves if the belt breaks. I know first hand
- that several of Honda's older engines had sufficient valve-piston clearance
- to spinn freely. I think the 87 Accord LXi and the Civic Si used the same
- engine so if you are nearing 55,000 I'd get it replaced.
