- mentions a DOHC layout had been seriously considered - to the point of
- building at least one running prototype engine - before someone realized
- it was too wide to fit between the front wheels of the car and allow
- room for them to turn to steer. In typical British fashion, Campbell
- implies Jaguar felt the SOHC was enough engine anyway, and the DOHC was
- just a test.

- Ri-ight. Typical British understatement. Some engineers probably had
- their ears cut off when the upper management found out they'd spent
- thousands of pounds developing a motor that could never have fit in the
- car in the first place. Har, har...
