- Yes, I do. They sound loausy, and I hate rewinding with a passion. Im a
- disc-format man all the way.

- I hate rewinding.
-
- Gad, you must be impatient! Many DAT machines (some of mine included)
- rewind at about 200 times the play speed. It only takes a few seconds
- to rewind the full length of a normal pop recording. When you add the
- ID numbering, skip, and track access features, it's really not too awful
- to deal with -- not at all in the same league as an analog cassette.
-
- By the way, I too am fairly excited about the MD as a portable format,
- though I'm not happy about the compression concept. DATs are great in
- the home, studio, and doing field recording, but if you look at all the
- teeny-tiny parts in, say, my Casio DA-R100, the thought of lugging it
- to the beach becomes rather scary, especially when those parts are all
- whirling around *touching* (yech) your favorite recording!
-
- Happy listening,
