- Yes, Jon, there are other library catalogs available for electronic
- access. One of the best ways into them is through Gopher, an Internet
- search program. If you don't have Gopher available on any of your
- machines, you can connect to the original Gopher server (the Mother of all
- Gophers) at the University of Minnesota by following these 2 steps:
-
- 1. telnet consultant.micro.umn.edu
- 2. Log in as "gopher"
-
- A menu will appear through which you can connect to library catalogs
- in Colorado, Nevada, California, even the Library of Congress in
- Washington, D.C. You can also gain access to weather information for
- North America, files of recipes, sounds to play on your workstation,
- and a host of other fun things.
-
- Enjoy!
