- Along the lines of dual membership...
-
- I belonged to the boro FD at home. We only ran about 50 calls a
- year if we were lucky. I was pretty active in and enjoyed what I did.
- When I transferred to a small state college in a small town, I decided to
- volunteer here. I was not expecting to run almost 200 a year including two
- interstates. I got so invilved at school, that over winter break, I joined
- the bordering town's larger FD to keep trained. There is a grudge between
- the two companies, but if you just laugh all the jokes and jeers off going
- Not manu people can say they are fully active in three companies.
- That exposes me to different SOPs, Practices and procedures. I do also of
- idea shuffling between all the companies, so everyone benefits in the end.
-
- I am just trying to say that strictly one-department memberships
- are very unproductive and even counterproductive. If there is anyone who
- wants to help that bad, NOBODY should be able to stand in his/her way.
-
- 'Nuff Said.
