- As a frequent credit card user, I receive credit card bills each month. These
- bills almost always have junk mail included with them. The only creditor that
- doesn't do this is Amex. American Express just includes a small monthly
- newsletter which I enjoy reading. Even gas card bills arrive with
- advertisements for stuff like quilts and tupperware. I do not know what this
- stuff has to do with driving. Anyway, I just put this junk mail right back in
- the envelope with my payment. I usually bury my check in the junk mail just
- to inconvenience the companies.
-
- The worst thing credit card companies do is to attach a flap on their payment
- envelopes with inane advertising on it. This ticks me off because I have to
- spend my time removing these things so I can seal the envelopes to mail them.
- Of course, I send this stuff back with my payments too. If they send junk
- that is too big to fit in the envelope, I just fold it so it will fit in.
-
- Perhaps if enough people do this, the credit card companies will stop creating
- this stuff. This junk mail is a waste of time and its a monumental waste of
- our natural resources. I am sure the folks in the Post Office would also
- appreciate the resulting lighter weight mail if credit card companies stopped
- including this junk in with their monthly statements.
