  24.      will only take large notes in the daytime and not at night.

  26.      The usual reason for not taking large notes is that you must
  27.      then have a supply of change for them on hand.  Here in the US
  28.      we have a pretty fair percentage of low-lifes who consider this
  29.      money THEIRS...   They will use weapons to get at it.

  31.      Convenience store attendants, service station attendants, taxi
  32.      drivers, etc. thus become a source of income for these low
  33.      lifes...   This makes things dangerous for the attendants.   To
  34.      help protect them, several companies discourage keeping much
  35.      cash on hand at all--particularly during the peak danger hours.

  37.      Does it work?  Sadly not...the lowlifes involved will use a gun
  38.      to get $5 or less.  And their total lack of concern for the
  39.      health and safety of the innocent attendant or cab driver in
  40.      getting that lousy few bucks makes me very sad that this
  41.      country frowns on retroactive abortion.    You see there is a
  42.      fairly significant portion of our population that blames
  43.      society for the lack of morals of our criminals.  Rather than
  44.      just removing them from the gene pool instantly when they show
  45.      lack of concern for other peoples property, health, and life,
  46.      they coddle them and penalize the merchants for attempting
  47.      local initiatives.   Then they wonder why the problem is on the
  48.      increase.

  50.      There is also the general decline in service and politeness in
  51.      the US...but that's not the original reason.  Stations, stores,
  52.      etc. USED to cheerfully offer change--up until this became
  53.      dangerous to their health.
