- cute ... but the real problem is that, while they'd be happy to take
- your money, there simply is not enough cash available to the attendant
- to make your change. if you see the sign and insist on paying with a
- large denomination banknote then it is likely you will not be able to
- get change (immediately ... other customers may have to be served
- before enough cash is accumulated to change your note).

- i've worked in an all-night convenience store, and clerks were
- required WITHOUT EXCEPTION to keep the amount of cash in the till
- under $50 ... all excess had to be noted on the cashier's sheet and
- dropped in the one-way drop safe. clerks in these places have no
- control over this; if you have a gripe with this policy then write to
- regional/national headquarters and flame at the management.

- i can't imagine any clerk doing this ... they don't want anything to
- do with hassling you; they just want you to pay and go on their way so
- they can finish reading this week's copy of the
- national_enquirer/people/torso/whatever ...
