  16. AmEx is worth it if you do a lot of traveling. Period. Hotel reservations
  17. guaranteed by AmEx are truly guaranteed unlike Visa/MC where they
  18. are technically not a guarantee. The odds of a Visa/MC guarantee NOT
  19. being honored is very low BUT if you do a lot of traveling, you will
  20. encounter such a situation if you use only Visa/MC. AmEx is also much
  21. more aggressive in getting hotels, airlines, etc. to provide extra
  22. ammenities like express checkout. You can get many of the same extras 
  23. with SOME Visa/MC cards but AmEx always seems to be ahead in quality
  24. and quantity. For example, AmEx started the extended warranty program.
  25. Visa/MC cards who offer the same thing did so only after AmEx proved
  26. the value of such a program.

  28. The AmEx card is more expensive to have but it also provides more
  29. services. If you need to use those extra services, it is well worth
  30. the extra money. Otherwise stick with your Visa/MC.
