  34. According to a December 3, 1992 story from UPI, HUD's Jack Kemp may
  35. be involved with a scam to raise funds for perhaps non-existent POW's
  36. and MIA's. This all came out thru the Senate Select Committee on
  37. POW/MIA Affairs.

  39. A fund raising firm sent out a copy of a letter stating "Please
  40. excuse the handwriting,... I am writing at a makeshift desk on the
  41. deck,... Sea is tossing and rolling." Letter was really written in a
  42. nice dry office in the USA. The boat which was supposed to be out at
  43. sea had not left port for years.

  45. This letter was written for retired Air Force Col. Jack Bailey.
  46. Bailey stated that he was advised by Jack Kemp. In these scams, of
  47. the $15.6 million collected as much as 90 percent, went to fees and
  48. other fund raising costs.

  50. HUD has promised to comment on the allegations by December 10, 1992.

  52. open letter to HUD on the Normandeau Newswire 212-274-8110,
  53. (Newsgroup # 5, 44 modem only phone lines). Kemp had replaced the
  54. publicly disgraced Sam Pierce.

  56. The National Hispanic Housing Council has charged racism at the US
  57. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as a remedy " ... to
  58. help reverse the racism against Hispanics that has existed at HUD for
  59. decades." has recommend NYC HA Chairperson Sally Hernandez-Pinero to
  60. replace current HUD head Jack Kemp. The Council press release is
  61. available on the Normandeau Newswire 212-274-8110.

  63. NYC HA Chairperson Sally Hernandez-Pinero replaced disgraced NYC HA
  64. Chair Laura Blackburne who had allegedly attempted to blackmail NYC
  65. HA Tenant Advisory Chair Violet Hamilton into quitting her post.

  67. Violet Hamilton was recently indicted for alleged embezzlement. Some
  68. news reports stated that Violet Hamilton was a NYC HA employee. That
  69. is not true; her position was entirely voluntary. She got no pay
  70. what-so-ever for THREE YEARS. As a perk of her "job" she was to be
  71. supplied with an automobile. According to information from usually
  72. accurate sources, the automobile was given to an associate of Laura
  73. Blackburne. The NYC HA then told Violet Hamilton to use a car service
  74. that the NYC HA would pay for. All car service vouchers were approved
  75. by the NYCHA before they were paid. The source alleges that Violet
  76. Hamilton had frequently complained to the NYCHA about the cost of the
  77. car service, but the NYCHA car had already been given away! Many
  78. papers that Violet Hamilton would have liked to review for her
  79. defense were reportedly stolen during a midnite office burglary
  80. orchestrated by NYC HA Inspector General Gene Lopez. Lopez had
  81. replaced the disgraced Jesse Mercado who had allegedly tipped off the
  82. subjects of undercover investigations. To add to dirty tricks,
  83. Hamilton was never informed about a Grand Jury prior to indictment.
  84. Friends of Hamilton are planning a legal-defense meeting this
  85. weekend.

  87. Violet Hamilton was a threat to the New York City Housing Authority
  88. as she talked too much about things that she shouldn't. The NYC HA is
  89. so frightened of people who might make too much noise if elected to
  90. tenant organization office that Edwin Kaufman of the NYC HA is now in
  91. a controversy involving a phony election that the NYS Courts called a
  92. sham.

  94. Queensbridge Houses news was on a recent Long Island City Journal
  95. front page. Covered was the late November indoor murder and the
  96. outdoor machine gun battle. between possible drug war-lords. A cop
  97. had gotten sandwiched between factions.

  99. Our Town recently mentioned that Salvatore Sparacino was killed by
  100. machine gun fire in Brooklyn. Sparacino was a friend of Bartholomew
  101. Borrielo. Bartholomew Borrielo was chauffeur/bodyguard to John Gotti.
  102. John Gotti is a reputed organized crime figure and salesman for Arc
  103. Plumbing at Queensbridge Houses. Bartholomew Borrielo ceased to be in
  104. Gotti's employ when Borrielo was shot to death in April of 1991.

  106. Some Queensbridge Houses tenants have speculated that Borrielo was
  107. shot because he may have been planing to testify for the prosecution
  108. at Gotti's trial.
