- SYRIA: AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL VISITS SYRIA
-
- Two Amnesty International delegates are visiting Syria for about ten days in
- order to attend and observe proceedings at trials before the Supreme State
- Security Court in Damascus. Those standing trial are long-term political
- detainees many of whom are prisoners of conscience adopted by Amnesty
- International. During their visit the delegates are not authorized to make any
- public statements and on their return will submit a report to the Secretary
- General of Amnesty International.
