  20. No.  Even compiling the g++ compiler cc1plus right now will be
  21. impossible, because of various problems.  Purely from a volunteer
  22. standpoint, I've been working on getting g++ to work on the Alpha (I'm
  23. fascinated by it).  I'm one serious bug away from making it work.

  25. Support for the Alpha in the C++ front-end for the GNU compiler will,
  26. at the very earliest, appear in the 2.4 release, *maybe*.  That also
  27. carries no guarantees about libg++ (since it, like a lot of things,
  28. was never designed thinking that pointers and ints might not be the
  29. same size).
