-
- No. Even compiling the g++ compiler cc1plus right now will be
- impossible, because of various problems. Purely from a volunteer
- standpoint, I've been working on getting g++ to work on the Alpha (I'm
- fascinated by it). I'm one serious bug away from making it work.
-
- Support for the Alpha in the C++ front-end for the GNU compiler will,
- at the very earliest, appear in the 2.4 release, *maybe*. That also
- carries no guarantees about libg++ (since it, like a lot of things,
- was never designed thinking that pointers and ints might not be the
- same size).
-

-
- Once I get something together, I'll ask for some volunteers that have
- access to Alpha machines to give my work a hammer-test, to make sure I
- caught everything.
-
- Oh, if anyone's been working on this on their own, I'd like to hear
- from them.
-
- Thanks,
- Brendan
