  12. I've  installed emacs som time ago on our RS/6000 under AIX3.2.
  13. Recently I wanted to add saveconf.el to the dumped emacs. I put
  14. (load "saveconf") into site-load.el, set the two configuration
  15. variables ins saveconf to t, byte-compiled saveconf again,
  16. made sure to take the modified version, finally dumped emacs after
  17. increasing PURESIZE in config.h.
  18.  
  19. Afterwards emacs wrote the configuration into the correct 
  20. .emacs_username file. When starting emacs, it seemed to read the
  21. configuration file only after the first keystroke, i. e., the
  22. *scratch* buffer came up as usual, after striking one key the
  23. correct recoverd buffer came up, accepting the first key for itself.
  24. This is very confusing and I think something must be wrong.
