  17. While I have the utmost respect for Roell's contributions, I am saddened
  18. that he chose to flame Amancio like that.

  20. Amancio has contributed a lot to making X go under 386BSD.  I exchanged
  21. email with him several times in the process of getting X up and he 
  22. always gave detailed responses with amazingly short turnaround times.

  24. And I do not believe he was trying to steal credit from anyone.  In the
  25. 386BSD world, Amancio is *the* X windows expert, at least among those
  26. actively posting.  He created the executables almost everyone uses.
  27. He posted to offer help to a guy who was having an X problem
  28. *on 386BSD*.  And that, I believe, is what he was trying to communicate --
  29. that he was the guy to talk to to get the problem fixed.
