  17. This is characteristic of a SCSI ID problem.  It's possible that the
  18. drive is set to SCSI ID 7, which is reserved for the Macintosh itself.
  19. If not, it may have the same ID as another SCSI device on the chain,
  20. or the controller may be bad.

  22. I would suggest not trying to write to the drive.  Aiming for the one
  23. "in the middle" doesn't work as well with SCSI volumes as with
  24. participants in drunken brawls. :-)
