- I'm not familiar with the Telebit modems, but we've had problems trying to use
- modems that compress data to get speeds > 9600 baud. It seems that the
- compression algorithms that are used channelize the phone line and essentially
- become half duplex (which works well when you're trying to send large amounts
- of data in one direction). We observed all sorts of unexpected trouble when
- trying to use these higher speeds. Hope this helps!
