  19. I reported the anomalous behaviour of chgrp to the local CSC some time ago.
  20. Whilst they were reluctant to admit that the behaviour contradicts that
  21. documented in the manpages, they did agree that it didn't seem quite
  22. right. It helped a bit when I pointed out that it all worked as expected
  23. in SunOS.

  25. I was told that it would be passed on to Ultrix Engineering as an SPR.

  27. I would encourage the original poster (and anybody else concerned about it)
  28. to report the bug via official channels. The more people report it, the more
  29. seriously they are likely to take it.
