- This kind of thing often happens when the modems are operating in a flow
- control mode using xon/xoff. Modems will use flow control when operating
- in and error free (MNP,ARQ,ECC...) mode or when setup for a fixed baud
- rate (i.e. the modem to computer rate is fixed regardless of the modulation
- rate).
